Sunol Creek Memory Care, a standalone memory care community in Pleasanton, CA, was named a “Best Senior Living” by U.S. News and World Report for 2024. It was the second time that Sunol Creek made the publication’s “Best Memory Care” list since the list debuted in 2022.
U.S. News’ Best Senior Living ratings assist seniors and their families with researching and choosing the best senior living community for them. Now in its third year, nearly 4,000 communities in the U.S. are evaluated in one or more of the following categories: independent living, assisted living, memory care, and continuing care retirement. Data from nearly 400,000 resident and family surveys nationwide is analyzed to develop the list of best communities.
For a decade, Sunol Creek has served families in Pleasanton and the surrounding area by providing specialized memory care services for individuals with all types of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease. Sunol Creek was one of only two Bay-area focused memory care communities honored by U.S. News. The community was recognized specifically in the areas of value, activities and enrichment, management, safety, location and environment, and staff and hospitality.
It’s been a banner month for Sunol Creek. They celebrated their 10th year in business and completed a management transition. The community is now managed by Agemark Senior Living. Agemark is a family-owned senior living management company with 31 communities in its portfolio. Twenty-eight of Agemark’s communities provide memory care, with 17 of those exclusively focused exclusively on the service. Agemark owns and/or manages twelve senior communities in California, including buildings located in Antioch, Concord, Folsom, Granite Bay and Oakdale. Sunol Creek’s ownership remains the same as it has for the past decade, with developer and owner Nick Kavayiotidis at the helm.
